Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Book Review

'Will there be anything to eat when we get there?' asked Grandma Josephine. 'I'm starving! The whole family is starving!' 'Anything to eat?' cried Charlie laughing. 'Oh, you just wait and see!' Roald Dahl is one of the most famous children’s authors of all time, and his story of the young Charlie Buckets is “scrumdiddlyumpsous!”  The book is about a poor boy named Charlie Buckets living with his parents and four grandparents. In a stroke of luck, Charlie finds a golden ticket, which wins him a life time’s supply of chocolate and a trip to the incredible Mr. Willy Wonka’s factory. Charlie and four other children are escorted through the gates of the factory to discover the secrets and magic of the world of Wonka’s candies. Charlie discovers candies like the everlasting gobstoppers, hair toffee, TV chocolate, and more! But, the other four children each discover that being greedy never pays. This book is the perfect book to read all cuddled up indoors with a bar of special chocolate. Overall, the whimsy and magic of the book makes up for the boring, long, and tedious songs that the Oompa Loompa’s sing. The book’s overall lesson is don’t be greedy, and they push it a lot! This book is great for kids 9-12, but if parents want to read it to the kids it’s great for all ages!
