Fablehaven Book Review

A trip to your Grandparents dusty old house with no T.V., no computers, and no WiFi sounds boring right? Well not for long. Brandon Mull writes an engaging fantasy story filled to the brim with trolls, fairies, goblins, centaurs, demons, and a seemingly crazy witch. Kendra and Seth Sorenson discover that their grandparents aren't as normal as they thought when they take a trip to their house. They come to discover their grandparents run a secret preserve for magical creatures called Fablehaven. Seth and Kendra soon find themselves at home in Fablehaven among the magical creatures that live there. But when a dark creature kidnaps Kendra and Seth's grandfather, Kendra, with the help of the fairies, must save her family and friends from the creature and save the magic of Fablehaven. Overall, Fablehaven is a very good book, but the author uses Seth's disobedience as a way to move the story along one too many times. Still, it is a nice read for ages 9-14.
