What would you do if your grandmother was Cinderella's fairy godmother? Or if you fell through an old book into the fairy tale world? Author/actor Chris Colfer (Glee), brings this story of two kids who are stuck in a fairy tale to life in a most enchanting way. In The Wishing Spell, Alex Bailey and her brother, Conner, fall through their grandmother's old storybook into a world of fairy tales called The Land of Stories. Their only way to get home is by collecting the ingredients needed to create the Wishing Spell, a powerful spell that gives the user one wish. The catch: the spell can only be used twice, there are two people pursuing it, and it's been used once already. Now, Alex and Conner must race against Snow White's evil stepmother to collect the ingredients first. On their journey, Alex and Conner run into many fairy tale characters, familiar and new. Readers will be thrilled to see where their favorite fairy tale characters ended up after their original "The End." Chris Colfer also puts his own unique spin on some of the most classic stories including Goldilocks, Little Red Ridding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk. Chris Colfer's magical story is just right for kids 10-13.
