The Legend of Ice Cream Island Book Review

"Ice Cream Island? I've never heard of such a place, does it actually exist? Well, I'm here to tell you it does exist. I know because I've been there myself. Many times in fact!" J.A. D'Marco brings every kids wildest dreams to life in this incredible fantasy. An entire island made completely of ice cream. When a boy called Colin Crumb makes a very special wish, he and his friend Spoons discover an island of ice cream. ICE CREAM ISLAND! They ride a banana split boat called the Bananamaran to the shores if the island where they meet Pops, a popsicle with a bit of a memory problem. Colin is delighted when Pops tells him that they are the only children on the island and they can eat whatever they want. Pops takes them on an edible tour around the entire island. They visit the Leaning Tower of Gelato, the Splatapult fields, the froze garden, and more. Spoons thinks that something is afoot and wants to go home, but Colin won't leave. When he tries to Splatapult himself into the forbidden Neapolitan Museum he uncovers a terrible secret. Now with the help of her friends Pops, Mr. Sprink-a-lots, and Scoops the monkey, Spoons must save Colin and all her friends from the evil Brain Freeze! From it's ice cream sandwich cover to the nutritional information in the back (Total Fun: 20 Grams, Saturated Laughs: 8 grams, etc.) this is an imaginative, funny, and heartwarming (or should I say cooling) book. It's only fault is you can't open it without bending the cover as it is in the shape of an ice cream sandwich! This book is great for kids 9-13!
