The Mysterious Benedict Society Book Review

"Are you a gifted child looking for SPECIAL opportunities?" As Reynie Muldoon will find out, these opportunities are more than just "special". Trenton Lee Stewart writes an incredible story that keeps the readers guessing right up until the final climatic fight with a sinister foe. The story focuses on Reynie Muldoon, a young boy who, along with three other children passes a puzzling test to join an incredible team. Together, they go undercover at a school that seems to be transmitting mysterious brainwashing messages through televisions and radios. The team partakes in the strange lessons at the school while trying to get to the bottom of the mystery. Many mysterious things are afoot in this school. Why are there traps laid out across the grounds? What will happen if they get caught? What are the students doing when they go for their "special privileges" and does it have anything to do with the hidden messages? Prepare to be wrapped up in this twisting and turning mystery with danger at every turn. Some chapters of the book are a little slow, but overall, the book is fast paced and fun. The Mysterious Benedict Society is great for kids ages 10-14
