The Unusual Mind of Vincent Shadow Book Review

The Biting Beast Ball? Mood Paints? SNOWZUKA?! What are those? The incredible toy inventions of Vincent Shadow! Tim Kehoe writes this wild and imaginative book about a young toy inventor who goes to New York city to compete in an awesome toy invention contest! What's the prize? He gets to spend the whole Summer building toys with the coolest toy maker ever, Howard G. Whiz. When his entry, the windless kite, breaks, he and his stepsister must come up with a new toy before time runs out. With the contest on the line they work together to win and become true siblings. This book is fun, and has lots of crazy toys and inventions. I think kids will really connect with Vincent, because he's misunderstood but is trying to prove himself. For kids over 11, this book  might be a little boring, but some 12 year old kids my enjoy this book as well. Reading level and story wise, this book is great for kids 9-11.
